This is the parent super-category for all materials that should not be considered part of Lost mythology, including parodies/humorous spoofs, intentional "fake" or hoax material, or fanon sites, fiction and art.

Individual articles should not be added to this parent category, but only to their respective subcategories.

The four major categories are as follows (with their respective warning templates):

Non-Canon alert! This article contains information that was shown or released via a canonical source such as TLE or a Lost episode, however it has nothing to do with the overall Lost mythos and was meant as a prop only.

{{hoax}}

Non-Canon Hoax Alert! This article contains false information that does not officially belong to The Lost Experience or other Lost mythos. Unlike fanon or parody, the material was created intentionally to cause confusion with information from official sources.

Fanon Alert! This article contains tribute art, spin-off fiction, theories, reference and community material created by fans inspired by the show. It is by definition non-canon, but generally distinct from intentionally fake hoaxes or humorous fan parody material.

Parody Alert! This article's subject matter is parodical and non-canon in nature (but distinct from hoax and serious fanon material) This material is generally fan-created, but occasionally from official or commercial sources.
