Lists

Lists have appeared numerous times in Lost, most notably those made by the Others concerning survivors who, presumably in the eyes of Jacob, are "good people".

Tail section list

The first yellow list (tasked to Goodwin) was given to a member of the Others when they came and took 9 of the Tailies. Ana Lucia found the list on one of the Others, who she killed with a stone as they took 9 of the Tailies, and she realized that the list had the names of the 9 people who had been taken, as well as what they looked like and what they were wearing. Some of the people on the list were:
& 4 unnamed tailies
Middle section list
Ethan Rom was supposed to make a list of the Middle Section survivors but it is unknown if he did before he was shot. In "Maternity Leave", Tom rebukes Ethan for failing to make a list before abducting Claire. Tom implies that he was the one who told Ethan to make the list.
Jacob's list
In "I Do", Danny Pickett mentioned that "Shephard wasn't even on Jacob's list".
In "Par Avion", Mikhail states that Kate is not on the list because she "is flawed".
Later, in "The Other Woman", Ben doesn't specifically say he is talking about Jacob's list, but it is implied when he says "who are we to argue with who is on the list?" to Juliet in response to her concerns about taking Zack and Emma from the tail-section survivors.
Mikhail's comments about the list
In "Par Avion", Mikhail talks to Sayid, Locke, Kate, and Rousseau about why each of them was not on the list. He explains, "You're not on the list because (looks at Kate) you are flawed... (looks at Locke) because you are angry... (turns to Sayid) and weak, and frightened." His account on Locke should probably not be taken seriously, since he is a direct threat to Ben's leadership among the Others. Ben could have erased Locke from the list because of this threat.
Bea Klugh's list
{{{Caption}}}
In "Exposé" in a flashback from November 9, 2004, Ben discussed a plan to abduct Jack, Kate and Sawyer using Michael. The plan was related to convince Jack to perform medical treatment on Ben.
Much later in time, Ms. Klugh gave a list of four survivors to Michael. She threatened that if he didn't return with those specific survivors (and no others), he would never see Walt again. The people on the list were:
The group was ambushed at the capsule dump by the Others before reaching their settlement, and then taken by force to the Pala Ferry pier. Walt was released to Michael, and the two were given a boat and compass heading to leave the Island. Hurley was released and sent back to the survivors' camp, and the other three were taken to the Hydra.
Jack was on the list because the Others needed him as a doctor for Ben, and Kate and Sawyer were included to persuade Jack to do the surgery.
Hurley was only on the list so he could be sent back with a message in "Live Together, Die Alone". In the post-finale podcast, the producers confirmed that Hurley was on the list because the Others thought he was the best candidate to deliver the message.
This list seemed to be created for a specific purpose and seemed to be unrelated to the other lists mentioned.
Other lists
Charlie's list
In "Greatest Hits", Charlie writes a list of the top five moments of his life, with the intent that Desmond deliver it to Claire after his predicted death. As Charlie writes each memory down, he remembers them through flashbacks.
Juliet's list
In "Something Nice Back Home", Juliet writes a list of the medical supplies she needs for the appendectomy she is to perfom on Jack. She hands the list to Sun and sends her together with Jin, Charlotte and Daniel to the Staff to retrieve the items.
Ben's list
Ben created a list for Sayid of people to kill. Sayid reveals this to Elsa, a woman he is dating whose employer is on Ben's list, in "The Economist". The list includes Mr. Avellino, who is murdered by Sayid, along with Elsa's employer and group of "others" that Sayid tells Ben will anticipate him coming after them. Sayid suggests that there is more than one person left to kill when speaking with Ben. This means that there are at least four people on the list including Mr. Avellino and Elsa's employer.
Michael's list
When confronted by Charlotte Lewis in "Confirmed Dead", Ben was able to give the names of everyone recruited for the island expedition in considerable detail, revealing that he gleaned it by having a spy on the boat. In "Meet Kevin Johnson", Ben tells Michael to compile a list for him with the name of everyone on the boat.
