Lost is being aired in Romania as Naufragiaţii (Shipwrecked). Just like in other countries, the show has quickly become popular, catching prime time on weekends and becoming the subject of several competitions for TV viewers.

History

The first season was aired by AXN between January and May 2005 on Saturday evenings, then re-aired in the second half of 2005 and continued with the second season in 2006 on Sunday evenings. The Romainian state-owned station TVR1 started broadcasting the first season in mid-October 2005 every Friday evening.

Broadcasts

AXN: (channel available on cable) Subtitled, Sundays at 8:10pm, re-aired Sundays at 0:20am and Mondays at 10:05pm and 2:20am. Currently broadcasting the last episodes of the second season. No commercials.
TVR1: (broadcast throughout the country as well as on cable) Subtitled, Fridays at 10:15pm. Currently broadcasting the last episodes of the first season. No commercials.

Connections to Lost

Monica Bârlădeanu, a Romanian model and actress using the stage name Monica Dean, played Gabriela in "The Hunting Party" (Lost Season 2, Episode 11)
Nadia Comaneci, a Romanian Olympic gold medalist, is pictured on a poster in the Flame station in "Enter 77". Mikhail Bakunin claimed to have named his cat after Comaneci. Coincidentally, Comaneci joined a newly formed gym club called "The Flame" in 1967.
