Weekend antonym
As a native swedish speaker I assure you the "weekend antonym" translation is just a stupid joke. It's the equivalent of "weekendus antonius" meaning weekend antonym in english. ("helg"=weekend, antonym=antonym in swedish too) I suggest it's kept referenced in the article just to dispel the myth. Frogurt 00:29, 3 May 2007 (PDT)
- It is adequately referenced, as it was a theory investigated by Lost Experience players, due to the fact that online sites translated it to weekend antonym. It is not a stupid joke as using an online translator is a perfectly logical way of trying to figure out the name. Obviously, the theory has been debunked by yourself and others, but it was a popular theory at the name and should be correctly explained. Putting "it was a stupid joke" in the main article is incorrect. --Nickb123 (Talk) 06:05, 12 June 2007 (PDT)
Significant?
Despite the, so far, relative insignificance of the ship to the show's plot at large, it bears mention that the Helgus Antonius is extremely unusual for a container vessel.
According to the Paik blueprints, the Helgus is equipped with no fewer than five deck-mounted cargo cranes. Container ships typically do not mount their own loading/offloading gear, as it takes up deckspace and would be inadequate for loading and offloading in any case. Container ships, especially megafreighters, require the assistance of dock-mounted cranes, such as the ones seen operating in the second photo (under History).
The point is that, although she may have been loading container ships, she's very atypical for the type. This "proprietary medical vessel" is quite unusual. --ConspiracyofDetails 10:31, 11 May 2007 (PDT)
This ship is unusual indeed. Despite that the blue print is one of a bulk carrier and not a container ship, it also seems to give different sizes for length and TEU. 1) 321 m and 10,700 TEUs and 2) 294.13 m and 4,578 TEUs. The second size seems rather realistic, according to the proportions on the blueprint. It would account for a large Handymax or Panamax carrier. The firts size would make the Helgus Antonius significantly larger. It couldn't even pass the Panama Canal, which currently can only handle vessels up to about 5000 TEUs and 304.8 m (1000 ft) in length. What is more disturbing, however, is that ships of both sizes could not anchor in the harbor of Sanremo anyway, as this has a maximum depth of 6m. Not to mention that there are no container facilities at all. Lovely place for my yacht, though. However this boat is mismatching reality, I am pretty looking forward to see that thing in day light and maybe also from the inside in season 4. --Donburi Kaminari 12:01, 26 June 2007 (PDT)
I have this crazy notion that this will turn out to be the freighter anchored off the coast of the island in S4. Although given the funky nature of the name, and the producers desire, so far, to steer clear of anything from the tie-ins, it's a long shot. --Petekwando 15:06, 20 February 2008 (PST)
