Featured article

Hey Nickb123,

I got a question due to the star for featured articles, for example here. I tried to attach it in any way to articles in the German Lostpedia. But links (e.g. to the nomination page) do not work up there. How did you do that? Is there a special template or something? Regards -- 14:31, 3 August 2008 (PDT)

Template:Infobox Character

Hey, I have a question about the character infobox. At the bottom of some infoboxes it shows the seasons (S1, S2, S3, MP, S4). How do you make links appear for these? For the Pierre Chang infobox S2, S3, and S4 should all be linked but I can't get it to work. Also, I can't make the Carole Littleton infobox link for S4. Images

Sry, you're my first contact person - dunno why.... ;)

Do you have also some troubles with images in articles? We get errors like "convert: unable to open image `/var/www/sites/www.lostpedia.com/de_images/thumb/4/43/ApolloCandyLogo.jpg/180px-ApolloCandyLogo.jpg': Permission denied." I know, that Admin wants to update MediaWiki in some weeks (btw: thanks for contacting him at that time). Just wanna know, if you have also some problems.

Error creating thumbnail

Nick, recently I have been trying to change the sizes of some images. When I try to this this, it says:

Error creating thumbnail: convert: unable to open image `/var/www/sites/www.lostpedia.com/images/thumb/2/2c/Lost-SeasonOne.jpg/249px-Lost-SeasonOne.jpg': Permission denied.

Image Upload problem in Chinese version

Recently, all editors I know from the Chinese Lostpedia cannot upload images. The error it something like cannot rename file or cannot recreate directory(in Chinese of course). Could you please contact someone to fix it?

I also want to propose a request: When Zh Lostpedia first started, I decided to use Chinese characters to replace the 0x00 format for episode numbers. This was welcomed by most contributors, but now we found that changing all Ep and Crossref templates to the new format is hard. I am familiar with programming so I tried to do this by template functions; however, MediaWiki lacks the basic string manipulation functions. Can you contact the Admin and ask him to install the extension at http://www.mediawiki.org.sixxs.org/wiki/Extension:StringFunctions for the Chinese version? I will be very grateful.

Lost UK Airings

Hey, i thought I would let you know I was looking at airings of Lost in various locations and found that Sky Two is currently re-airing Season 3 of Lost. I found it scheduled Monday 11th- Thursday 14 at 9 AM with Enter 77 Monday's episode. I realize that. But i was looking that we have for the US/Canada that G4 and Space are going to be showing repeats and we have them added. I was thinking we might as well have repeats listed for those who don't know and may want to watch at least until new episodes return. Images in Character Articles

Hi Nick. Recently I have been going through characters articles (such as Claire, Bernard, Sawyer, and Eko) and resizing the images to 225px. I've been doing this because the images that were on there were WAY too big and took up a lot of the article. user:Jamster just told me that in his browser, resizing to 225px makes the images larger.     • I have a question. Silly me. On my desktop computer... I created an account on Lostpedia under the name KansasGal. And on my Laptop... My account is KansasGal71. I hardly ever use my desktop. But had to send in my laptop to repair the AC Jack. So when I turned on the Desktop and logged in... Since I had it saved... I logged into KansasGal not KansasGal71. So... Is there any way I can combine the two?? I prefer the KansasGal71, since it is my name at Fuselage and DharmaWantsYou and my Blog. Index template

Since the Index template, featured on the main page is protected, and I could not add to it, I had to ask a SySop to do this. There is a problem in the listing of the main characters. All of them are listed under their first names, with the exeptions of Ben (who is listed as Benjamin Linus) and Juliet (listed as Juliet Burke). Recent Casting Call

--DocH 14:50, 18 August 2008 (PDT): Not sure where OR if you want to work this in somewhere. [2] revealed a call last weekend that was new to LOST SOP. I follow the site and they seem reliable. I haven't been able to locate the hardcopy of the "casting call" from the production team though.
--DocH 15:37, 18 August 2008 (PDT): I read through the article AND the link it has to the 'honolulu advertiser'. I did not see any spoilery stuff. The article was more about the process of finding extras NOT the specific roles involved (m/f, recurring, imposing, etc...). I was thinking this could be one of your Main_page articles - gone in a week or two, now that they have started filming. (I will admit that the second link [3] spoils that baby Aaron from S2/S4 is being considered again - because he gurgled well.)

Calendar box

Nick -

The remarks in the edit section for Lostpedia:Featured article selection#Weeklies stated a need for a calendar-like box for the entries. I built one that looked good to me. You - I think - overwrote the box and returned to the previous paragraph-oruented format. I'm still new at writing wiki code and I was wondering what I could have done to make the product better.

Could you delete the templates that are featured in the category delete as they are not used because they are either 1. unused templates for portals (some of them were protected so I put the delete on their talk pages), currently replaced with the AA portal images tempaltes or 2. the templates formerly used on the Anagrams page, as they are now removed because ther are currently treated as speculations and theories.--O r h a n 9 4 13:22, 24 August 2008 (PDT)

New interview with TLE character!

  • Hi there, Nick! I just got an interview with Speaker, and I really need some help with questions. As you know, I wasn't amazingly active during TLE, so I'm gonna be a bit stuck - plus, this interview is gonna be an IM convo, which makes it even harder! Oh, and do you think you could somehow publicise the need for questions? It'd be great if something could be put in the top of the page again.

RE:Speaker interview

  • The truth is, I haven't done it yet. Last week was quite hectic from me - I've been on holiday, and so have my friends, and therefore we haven't beena ble to get together; so, last week, we did, on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Then, on Friday, I was asked to take part in an NBC conference call with Tim Kring and Zachary Quinto to promote the new season of Heroes, so yeah. The interview will be taking place this Tuesday, however. I would absolutely love to post them together though - when would you suggest? Oh, btw, do you have a copy of my interview release schedule? Battles?

Nick, I thought the battle pages Barracks_battle, Battle_at_the_helicopter, and Beach_camp_battlewere merged into Conflict. If that is the case, why do they still have individual pages? Shouldn't they be turned into redirects or deleted? I noticed people are still making edits to them.
